Mirror Selection
From openSUSE
- You don't need to select a mirror yourself. If you use download.opensuse.org (http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/, respectively http://download.opensuse.org/update/), it takes care of everything. This site will automatically select one of the mirrors from a database and redirect the download. See Build_Service/Redirector for (technical) details on how this works.
- If you would like to use a different mirror, or want to see all mirrors where you could download a file from, you can browse to http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/ and click on the 'Mirrors' link. Find the mirror lists for openSUSE 11.0 DVD images for example, here: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.0/iso/dvd/
- If you miss a certain mirror, it would be great if you tell us about it, by sending mail to ftpadmin at suse com.
- For updates of openSUSE 10.2 and older, you need to refrain to http://ftp.suse.com / ftp://ftp.suse.com. It doesn't redirect, and you might manually select a mirror from Mirrors Released Version.
- For discontinued releases like SUSE Linux 10.1, 10.0 or older, please see Mirrors Discontinued Releases.
That's it!
If you operate a mirror yourself, please see here: Mirror Infrastructure.
