The openSUSE project will roll out new development features in phases. Over time, community members will benefit from expanded access to the unique openSUSE build service, which powers the project's source management and build systems. With the build service, developers will be able to make their applications run on multiple architectures and even build them to support other Linux distributions. This flexibility will help make openSUSE one of the most compelling community projects for Linux.
Future Changes to the openSUSE Project
Build Service
Please read the Build Service Roadmap page for planning details.

openSUSE 11.0 Schedule
openSUSE 11.0 has been released on Thu, June 19th (Roadmap, Product Highlights).
openSUSE 11.0 Release Party
There's no better way to enjoy the new release than with your fellow openSUSE users! Throw an installfest, or just get all the openSUSE and Linux users you know together to talk about the latest release, have some refreshments, and be social.(Take plenty of pictures, too — we want to see you!) If you, your LUG or openSUSE User Group are hosting one, go ahead and add it to this list.
Note that you don’t have to throw your release party the same day as the release — so if you’re working for a living, maybe June 19 isn’t the best day to go out — but the following Saturday is good too. If you're interested in hosting one but have questions, email the opensuse-project list for information.
openSUSE 10.3 Schedule
openSUSE 10.3 has been released on Thu, Oct 4th (Roadmap, Product Highlights).
Other Subprojects
openSUSE has many different projects which have additional Roadmaps on their own sites. Please use the discussion link to inform us about recent updates of the project roadmaps so we can announce them here on a central place.
