Samba RPM Packages for SUSE Linux Enterprise and openSUSE

Current release

RPM packages of the current Samba release for all SUSE Linux based products are available at:

and at all Samba.org mirrors:

The directory structure for STABLE allows you to add the particular directory for your SUSE product as an installation source of YaST, yum, or smart. To add such a source you might also point your preferred package installation tool to the suse-samba.repo file available from each product version directory.

Supported SUSE Linux based products are at the moment SUSE Linux 10.1, openSUSE 10.2, 10.3, 11.0, UnitedLinux 1/ SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 8, SLES 9, SUSE Linux Enterprise (SLE) 10 and factory (= the currently developed product). For some architectures - like ia64, ppc, s390(x) - you find a limited releases subset.

See the changes file for the last changes to the package. Please also check the README file for additional information. The Samba documentation is provided as one common package for all products. The spec files, vendor, and patches (SUSE sources) are available from the src sub directory.

Pre or rc releases

Before a new stable version of Samba is released pre and release candidate (rc) snapshots of the sources are published. RPM packages of these are available from the TESTING subdiretory.

openSUSE Build Service

Samba binary packages are also available from the openSUSE Build Service at download.openSUSE.org.

The STABLE and TESTING projects provide packages for a huge set of Linux distributions (CentOS, Fedora, Mandriva, Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), openSUSE, SUSE Linux Enterprise (SLE)).

In MAINTAINED packages for longer maintained products (SLE) are available.

Samba bug reporting and advanced debugging information
