Talk:Development Version
From openSUSE
Please don't replace download.openSUSE.org with other mirrors. It's a dynamic redirector, which will also take "Factory" into account very soon. --cthiel 18:08, 21 Dec 2005 (MST)
No link to Announcements and most annoying bugs
Hi - i'm looking for a solution to the "kstartupconfig" problem of Alpha4 and cannot find any solution, i know it is well-known - adding a link to the latest Annoucement would be great and helpful...
netinstall broken (?)
I've gotten a repeating 10.1-beta3 netinstall error when trying to determine the package selection. Some comments by people on irc suggested that this is well known. Perhaps a note should be made on the Development_Version page about this?

Torrents need/should not go through mirror magic
Trying to download an ISO set via a .torrent link, got me a forbidden error. From mirrors.kernel.org of all places, which may be a good example; OpenSUSE is then twice removed from when that link is active.
.torrents should be served from a central location as soon as the public tracker is up. Off the top of my head, I cant think of a reason why this location cant be the wiki itself. Or perhaps the tracker/some tracker software has some built in .torrent serving capabilities.
Installation Sources for Betas
Why is there no installation source for the betas, only factory? (sometimes hopelessly broken)

Please add a link to the non-oss factory repo
The download webpage for the Released_version mentiones the non-oss CDs, but here, for the development_version there is no link to the non-oss repo. Is there a reason why it is missing?
Is there actually 6 CD's for 10.3a6?
'openSUSE 10.3 Alpha6 is available on different medias: 6 CDs 1 AddOn CD with only proprietary binary packages (including packages under a non open source license) on it 1 AddOn CD with language packages that are used for our tier 2 languages (the 5 CDs have support for installation in all languages, just extra packages are only on this extra media) 1 DVD containing the contents of the above first six media (5 CDs + proprietary Add-On)'
10.3 Beta2 addon iso link
I noticed that the 10.3 beta 2 binary addon link was incorrect here is the correct one:
Has been repaired and others as well. --fdekruijf 09:35, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Sources wrong link
The link for sources is given as http://ftp1.opensuse.org/distribution-sources/RC1 which does not exist.
openSUSE 11.1?
I'm assuming that any modifications to the openSUSE source code are going to openSUSE 11.1. If there's any way to download this, or if there will be an alpha soon, perhaps that should be mentioned on this page, seeing as pretty much everything on this page is outdated and now irrelevant?
