Can't get SuSE to install

Hey there should be some explination of what the number of partitions we need and how to format them. I keep trying diffrent schemes of partionting, but i always get the error- 1012. Which is basically mean's it can't write a partition, but i am not haveing it wirte one. Then where i go back kto Disk Utitlity i get a whole bunch of weird partitions, and they add up to way more that what my hd size is. Please give more info on this, or better yet give YaST the ability to partition.

Booting issues

I can't seem to get the CD1 to install on a 12" 1.5GHz G4 PowerBook, it hangs on the Yaboot screen printing this to the screen:

. . . ok
opening display/pci@f0000000/NVDA,Parent@10/NVDA,Display-B@1. . .ok
copying OF device tree. . . ok
Calling quiesce . . .
returning 0x04010000 from prom_init

EDIT: If its any help, Im using the newest open firmware (I think, since this is a new, updated PB) - Boot ROM Version: 4.9.0f0 I have tried almost every PPC distro available (with the exception of Yellow Dog) and they all fail on yaboot. Ubuntu 5.10 PPC gets past the yaboot screen and then freezes. ANY help would be great, I got this $1500 machine because Apple makes great hardware but I don't want to stop using SUSE (been using it for 3 years now and love it).

installation on powerbook G4 1.67 Ghz osx 10.4

Hi,

I've been trying to install SuSe Linux 10 on my new 15" powerbook G4, 1.67Ghz, to no efford.
I partitioned my hard drive and booted from CD1, but when I try to install it says "Could not find the SUSE Linux Installation CD". Then when I go on with the manual setup, it tries to mount the CD-ROM but stops with the message "Make sure that CD number 1 is in your drive".
Help would be nice!

Kind regards,

Wrong Events from Trackpad (iBook G3/900; 10.1)

On an iBook G3/900, the trackpad behaves weird during the installation of 10.1 final. Often it seems to send a click event while moving the cursor. To avoid surprise, I'd recommend to use the textmode or an remote installation. --Keichwa 08:54, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
