Folding@Home
Folding@Home is a program created by the Sanford University that deals with the mystery of folding proteins in the human body. While this may not seem like a big deal, I would suggest that everyone who can install this program, please do so. It takes up no room, and requires only a small terminal running while the program runs. This program is working to find out about the complex action of folding proteins to better understand the reason behind some of the most serious diseases, including "Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease, and many Cancers and cancer-related syndromes." Below is a link to the Folding@Home donwload page and a tutorial to install the program if you are unsure of how to install and run the program. Help save lives! You can make a difference!
